The Trumansburg Area Christmas Bureau is a local program of “neighbors helping neighbors”. Families who need assistance with the extra burdens of the holiday are anonymously paired with sponsors who help with clothing and gifts for the children, and extra food for the holidays.
The program is open to families living in the Trumansburg School District with children under 18 years old who live at home. Children aged 18-20 are eligible if they are still enrolled in Trumansburg school or BOCES. These guidelines also apply to children who are homeschooled.
The Christmas Bureau recruits sponsors who are asked to purchase one outfit of new clothes, a hat & gloves, and one to three modest toys or games for each child. We also provide groceries to help you with meals during the winter break.
If you are interested in participating in the program this year, please complete the on-line application form or print and mail the application to us by Friday November 12, 2021.
When filling out the application form, please be as specific as possible about color preferences, and clothing sizes. If you give specific ideas about the kinds of clothing styles and modest toys your child likes, our volunteers will more likely be able to get what your children will enjoy.
We cannot provide expensive gift items, like cell phones, iPods, Xbox, sports equipment, etc.
For you to be a part of this year’s Christmas Bureau’s Program, WE MUST RECEIVE YOUR APPLICATION BY FRIDAY NOVEMBER 12TH. This allows time to shop & prepare the gifts for the Distribution Day on Saturday, December 19th.
In early December, you will receive a letter informing you of where and when you are to come and pick up your family gifts and food.
